ImageNational Great Holiday Nauryz of Kazakh people, who have ancient traditional culture and custom of Asia and nomads, is launching in Mongolia. The holiday, marks traditionally on 22, March every year, is very special holiday. Since 1990, Kazakh people have been celebrating widely Nauryz. Also, their great movement began in this year. Over 65 thousand citizens have moved to Kazakhstan since 1990.

Mongolian Mining Industry
ImageMining is one of the main pillars of the Mongolian economy and produces 30% of the total industrial output and accounts for 65.5% of export revenue. The output of the Mongolia mining sector has increased by about 8 percent a year. Products from this sector account for 9 percent of the Gross Domestic Product. The New Minerals Law of Mongolia, passed in 1997, has greatly improved the legal environment for investors by clearly defining legal rules, simplifying the licensing process and reducing royalty and exploration fees.

ImageThe total numbers of livestock (sheep, goat, camels, horses and cattle) reached 32.9 million in 1998. 129 million hectares of land is designated as agricultural land of which 326.6 thousand hectares is cropped. 194.9 thousand tons of wheat, 65.2 thousands tons of potato and 45.7 thousand tons of vegetables were harvested in 1998.

Bogd Khan Palace Museum

This complex of temples and houses contain a number of Buddhist artworks and the private collection of Javzan Damba Hutagt composed of gifts of rulers and kings from all over the world.

Experts say copper prices to remain high for next two years

Market observers believe Mongolian copper prices will remain high for at least the next two years. One of the main reasons given for the continuing high prices are delays to planned mining projects caused by increasing percentages of revenues being funneled off by governments in Mongolia and Africa.
