For the native English speaker there is plenty of opportunity to teach English privately – normally for more than the schools pay but with less job security and often without a work visa. Jobs are normally advertised in the English language newspapers The Mongol messenger and The UB Post which can be picked up from the Central Post Office and other paper booths in the street.

The Canadian owned and run, American School is a new edition to Mongolia’s education sector. The school is currently in it’s first academic year and after a few teething problems, like any new institute the school is attracting alot of interest from Mongolian families wanting their children to be educated in a totally emerged English language environment.
There is a huge demand for "Native" English speakers as English teachers. Anyone who is interested in teaching English will have no trouble getting employment and a work visa through a school or organization. However, the pay is generally low compared to other countries. Though it'll usually be just enough for room and board plus a little extra.
The International School of Ulaan Baatar is a well established institute and is by far the best school in the country for foreign students residing in Mongolia with their families. There are a number of non - native speaking students in the school, for the same reason that the American School attracts them.
Santis is one of the most established schools in UB and is 2% owned by a US founding partner. The school has around 5 - 7 Native speaking ESL teachers at anyone time, and a number of Mongolian Grammar teachers, teaching basic English.
There are two English newspapers in Ulaanbaatar, The UB Post and the Mongol Messenger. Both accept volunteers and if you in Mongolia there long enough (if if you are lucky too) then you maybe asked to stay on as English Editor or maybe even Editor and recieve a small salary (from $100-$300 per month).

The Art of Language School of English is one of the growing number of private language institutes, who seem more intent on making as much money as they can without paying for it.
