Agreement calls for Russia’s Rosneft to build 100 gas stations in Mongolia
{mosimage}Russian oil producer Rosneft will freeze oil prices at January levels as part of an agreement to build 100 consumer gasoline stations. The company said this price freeze will remain intact through July.
The number of tourists to be reached 440 thousand
{mosimage}Mongolia is aiming that the number of tourists will be reached 440 thousand in 2008, a deputy of the Tourism of the Ministry of Road, Transportation and Tourism E.Battulga talked. He said, 386 tourists came in Mongolia in the first ten months of 2007, which increased by 56 thousand or 14.6%, compared with the same period of the previous year, according to statistical information.

{mosimage}The recent outbreak of equine influenza continues to spread across the country. State veterinary agency of Ministry of food and agriculture had announced tender. According to this tender “SBS” company imported 36000 flacon “tilozen-200” from Russia, in order to treat the infected horses.

Mongolia to allow QGX to mine tungsten, hopes to profit from Chinese restriction on selling minerals
{mosimage}Mongolia has agreed to allow QGX (QGX-T) to begin mining tungsten and molybdenum at Undur Tsagaan. These are both minerals used in the hardening of steel. The demand and market price of both minerals may be heading up due to China restricting the mining of both minerals.
Long song singers
{mosimage}Singing a traditional Mongolian long song is not an easy task. However, the country has numerous well known and unknown singers. Three long song singers – B.Nomin-Erdene, G.Erdenechimeg and D.Uuriintuya – have become popular for their special vocal performances in the ethnic/pop genre and debut album released on February 18, in the capital city.
National Dance Competition
{mosimage}A state competition, Ovlon Bujigletsgeeye or Let’s Dance by Inheriting, has been running at the Mongolian Children’s House. The competition was organized under the name of State Honored Artist, G.Dolgorsuren. Dancers from the capital city and countryside have been participating.
Judo Teams Keep Busy With European Tournaments
{mosimage}Like the freestyle wrestling team, the Mongolian judo team was kept busy with a series of international tournaments around Europe. The team exchanged experiences with the French team during four-days of training in Paris from January 11-14. From Paris, the team was divided into the men’s and women’s teams.
