Mongolia to allow QGX to mine tungsten, hopes to profit from Chinese restriction on selling minerals

{mosimage}Mongolia has agreed to allow QGX (QGX-T) to begin mining tungsten and molybdenum at Undur Tsagaan. These are both minerals used in the hardening of steel.  The demand and market price of both minerals may be heading up due to China restricting the mining of both minerals.

QGX receives Undur Tsagaan mining license

{mosimage}QGX Ltd. (TSX:QGX) announced Wednesday that the government of Mongolia has issued a mining license for the Undur Tsagaan site in eastern Mongolia.  The license will allow open-pit mining for tungsten-molybdenum by QGX. Molybdenum is an essential mineral used in the hardening of steel.

Trade between Mongolia and China increases by 43%

{mosimage}For the ninth year in a row, China has been cited as Mongolia’s largest trading partner. Officials in Ulaanbaatur disclosed this week that total trade between Mongolia and China increased by 43 percent to U.S. $2.07 billion in 2007.
