The Mongolia National Tourism Organization (MNTO) opened its first tourist office in the United States on Tuesday.
The office will provide the North American tourism industry with information and assistance in sending tourists to Mongolia. In conjunction with this work, MNTO has also joined the American Tourism Society and the Adventure Travel & Trade Association.
H. E. Enkhtsetseg Ochir, Mongolian Ambassador to the United Nations, said at the office opening, “Americans are travel trendsetters, and the allure of Mongolia’s vast landscapes and nomadic culture offers the opportunity to explore the unexplored.”
Also speaking, MNTO Governing Board Member Indraa Bold said, “There aren’t many places where you can ride a horse, visit a nomadic family, then enjoy French cuisine and a massage at a brand-name hotel like Kempinski or Hilton all in the same day. Mongolia routinely exceeds visitors’ expectations.”
At the event, National Geographic Adventure Magazine presented Mongolia with their “Best of 2008 Adventure Destination” award.
