USA President George Bush has sent a letter to President Enkhbayar of Mongolia.   In it, he wrote : “ I am happy that your visit to the White House on 22nd October was successful.

The United Arab Emirates is taking steps to protect the rights of Mongolian workers employed in their country. In a move which could become a model for other countries, the UAE has finalized an agreement with ten Asian countries they currently accept foreign workers from, including Mongolia.

Seeking to improve ties with Mongolia, Canadian Trade Minister David Emerson will visit Mongolia, as well as China, this week. Emerson’s visit to Mongolia is the first by a senior Canadian minister in a decade. While in Ulaanbaatur, he will meet President Nambaryn Enkhbayar, Prime Minister Sanj Bayar and senior ministers to discuss Canada’s trade and investment interests. 

S.Bayar, the Prime Minister of Mongolia, met with Mark Minton, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador from the USA in Mongolia. At the beginning of the meeting, M.Minton congratulated S.Bayar, who was appointed as the Head of the Government of Mongolia.

On Tuesday, the Standing Committee on State Structure of the State Great Hural (Parliament) breathed with “election” as the Constitutional deadline of six-months prior to the election was about to expire in a day. Two different legal discussions were held: one, a draft law to run the next parliamentary election in a proportional representation system, and the other, a draft amendment to the current effective election law.

Yesterday, S.Bayar, the Prime Minister of Mongolia, and V.A.Zubkov, the Head of the Government of the RF, talked over the phone. During it, the Prime Minister S.Bayar mentioned, some products price has been jumping in Mongolian internal market and adverse influence is being exerted to citizens’ livelihood.

Parliament has approved the three names submitted to complete the 15-strong cabinet of new Prime Minister S. Bayar late afternoon, December 13. The final three positions have been filled by Member of Parliament, R.Rash as Minister of Road, Transport and Tourism;

Two major political parties, the Democratic Party and the Mongolian People’s Revolutionary Party (MPRP), agreed in principal last week, to run next year’s parliamentary election in a proportional representation system.

On Wednesday late evening, the State Great Hural (Parliament) discussed appointments of new government ministers. Most of the candidates were approved by majority of more than 80 percent of vote.
