The Steppe Inn is the British Embassy’s very own bar and is usually manned by the Embassy staff themselves with the Ambassador at the pump ... or gassing away to the customers, to the general  disarray of the rest of the Embassy staff! and ready to regail you with tales of dirk and danger from various non classified postings around the world!

The Steppe is a small friendly place to hangout and is open between the hours of 6:30 - 8:30 on Friday evenings the Steppe is a good place to stop for a quick one on your way in or out of town. The bar is attached to the British Embassy on Peace Avenue, opposite the Wrestling Palace. Sporting it’s very own Mongolian Ger and a dart board! The bar is full of regailia left behind by numerous visitor of all shapes and sizes.

The Steppe should be visited by any Brits visiting or passing through Mongolia at least once, although membership is required or you can visit the pub by invitation. You don’t have to be a British citizen to join and all who enter are made welcome, in a good old British fashion. The bar is frequented by Mongolian’s and a mass of other foreign nationals throughout the year.

Experts say copper prices to remain high for next two years

Market observers believe Mongolian copper prices will remain high for at least the next two years. One of the main reasons given for the continuing high prices are delays to planned mining projects caused by increasing percentages of revenues being funneled off by governments in Mongolia and Africa.
