Monkhzul Ranked 2nd in Asia PDF Print E-mail

THE Asian Shooting Confederation (ASC) published its ranking of shooters in every  category in January. Among Mongolians who find a place there, International master Ts.Monkhzul is ranked second in the women’s 25-m pistol category, while state honored athlete O.Gundegmaa is placed third, right after her. A shooter from China is ranked first.    

Five young shooters, D.Oyun, G.Kherlentsetseg, T.Bayartsetseg, Ts.Khongorzul and B.Agiimaa, have been placed 19th, 44th, 50th, 61st and 67th. It is now up to them and their trainers to rise in the ranking.

In the women’s 10-m air pistol section Monkhzul is placed 5th and Gundegmaa 10th . place. Other Mongolians are further behind, staring from Kherlentsetseg in the 20th place. In the women’s 10-m rifle section the country’s top shooters, D.Lkhamsuren, Ch.Narantuya and Z.Batkhuyag, are respectively placed 11th, 29th and 33rd.   

With their lack of success the Mongolian men’s team has been placed in the lower half of the list. S.Zolboo is ranked 50th and L.Undralbat 68th .
The Mongolian shooting team is currently training hard for the Olympic Games.

Canada to open trade office in Ulaanbaatar

Canada will open a permanent trade office in Mongolia to assist local Canadian businesses. Canadian firms have a reported $395 million in investments, including operating more than 20 mines. Canada is also Mongolia’s second largest investor.
