The UK establishes the relation with our country at first from the western countries PDF Print E-mail

Mongolia established the diplomatic relation with the UK on 23, January of 1963. Since the diplomatic relation was established, the two countries relations have been developing regularly.

On the statement of “The Group of Seven” summit held in London, the UK appealed to other countries in 1991 to value success of our country’s politic and economic renovation, support it in the future, and cooperate with Mongolia. And it was the highest importance event that attracted the whole world’s attention to Mongolia.

The bilateral relations have been developing in all branches in recent years and mutual visits have been implemented. The Prince Andrew, Duke of York attended in the measure of the 800th anniversary of the establishment of the Great State Mongolia and N.Enkhbayar, the President of Mongolia, visited the UK in April of 2007 on Tony Blair’ s invitation, the Ex-Prime Minister of the UK. The two sides valued highly these top level visits that influenced to strengthen the friendly relation, and the cooperation.

The 45th anniversary for the establishment of the diplomatic relation of Mongolia-the UK is occurred in 2008 and the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs together with the Embassy of the UK in Mongolia is organizing a research conference themed “The diplomatic relation of Mongolia-the UK in 45 years” among teachers and students of the NUM, and Science Institutes’ researchers on occasion of the 45th anniversary of the diplomatic relation.

Canada to open trade office in Ulaanbaatar

Canada will open a permanent trade office in Mongolia to assist local Canadian businesses. Canadian firms have a reported $395 million in investments, including operating more than 20 mines. Canada is also Mongolia’s second largest investor.
