Last Friday, S.Bayar, the Prime Minister of Mongolia, received Patrick Chrisman, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador from France in Mongolia.

Erick De Sez, a director of “Areva Mongol”, who attended at the meeting, introduced about his company carried out its operation for 10 years. “Areva” group is one of leaders on the world by uranium extraction and it has proposal to invest into Sainshand by this direction.

The Prime Minister S.Bayar said, “Many countries are attending to us about the cooperation and investment at the mining organization such as the USA, the Russian Federation, and Canada, Australia, and Japan. One of them is France. Mongolians has little experience about how to extract the uranium is the most important raw material of strategy. Otherwise, its legal environment has not completed yet. Also, he added, but it is important to not lose favorable condition on the world market and we don’t want to postpone an issue of the mineral extraction.

Experts say copper prices to remain high for next two years

Market observers believe Mongolian copper prices will remain high for at least the next two years. One of the main reasons given for the continuing high prices are delays to planned mining projects caused by increasing percentages of revenues being funneled off by governments in Mongolia and Africa.
