Bogd Khan Palace Museum

{mosimage}Built between 1893 and 1903, the Winter Palace of Bogd Khan was the home of Mongolia’s last king Javzan Damba Hutagt VIII. This complex of temples and houses contain a number of Buddhist artworks and the private collection of Javzan Damba Hutagt composed of gifts of rulers and kings from all over the world.

This complex of temples and houses contain a number of Buddhist artworks and the private collection of Javzan Damba Hutagt composed of gifts of rulers and kings from all over the world. Situated half way to Zaisan hill to the south of the city center. This is the only remaining palace out of four residences where Bogd Khan, the last Mongolian ruler, resided. This palace now displays the collection of personal belongings of the Last Khan and his wife. The museum offers a wide variety of Buddhist arts. Special attention attracts by paintings by Marzan Sharav depicting with a slice of humor and irony scenes from the everyday life of Mongols in the turn of this century.
