Hi, There are many foreigners live and work in Ulaanbaatar(UB). Most of them from US. About an accommodation, you can find range of apts. condos in price range between USD 300 -9,000 monthly. What you are not to do is - not walking alone on street during the night however UB is pretty safe city, gangs think of every foreigners is rich. Mongolian winter is harsh and freeze, so you'd better to have heavy coat and warm sweaters to stay warm. Taxi driver can be charging to foreigners 2-5 times higher than regular prices. If you are experienced with UB, then don't worry about that, just pay them amount what they have to have... if any other Qs re Ulaanbaatar, I'd be happy to answer.
