For Ulaanbaatar being the single hub for any travel destinations within Mongolia, nobody can skip staying at least one or two nights in Ulaanbaatar.

Travelers are welcome to major hotels in Ulaanbaatar such as, Chingis Khaan, Bayangol, Kempinski Khaan Palace, Ulaanbaatar, Flower and Anujin hotel. All hotels are centrally located making it easy for travelers to explore the capital on their own. Also the Ger Camps consist of gers, based on 2-4 beds, restaurants and shower/restroom facilities. Like the Chinese, the Mongolians use a lunar calendar to celebrate traditional holidays, such as the lunar new year. Years are traditionally grouped into five blocks of 12 years. Each block is named after one of the elements (Earth, fire, water etc) and each year is named after the 12 animals of the zodiac.

Nomads divide winter into periods of time in multiples of nine, the lucky number for Buddhists. The winter is 81 days long (nine times nine). At the end of the 81st day, Tsagaan Sar (White Month), is widely celebrated as the start of the lunar new year.

Government offices are usually open from 9 am to 5 pm on weekdays and lunch hour is 1 pm to 2 pm. Banks are supposed to open from 10 am to 3 pm weekdays. Mongolia introduced a five-day working week in 1998. Most private and state-run businesses open at about 10 am and close sometime between 5 and 8 pm. In the countryside most guanz: (canteens) seem to close for dinner (and often lunch as well). In reality, opening hours are often at the whim of staff. Readmore…

Visa Requirements

Any foreign visitor wishing to enter Mongolia must have a valid passport and visa. Mongolian visas are issued by Mongolian Diplomatic Missions abroad or upon arrival at a special request. Mongolia Embassy and Honored Consul in foreign countries will issue a visa. If there is not any Embassy Consular Office and also Honored Consul in your country (or country, where you are available to apply) you can get a visa at the immigration office of Mongolian border. In this case, you have to inform us at least one week before your arrival. We will fix official documents and also visa request letter to the Border Immigration Office. If Embassy Consuls and Honored Consul request an invitation letter for a visa we will provide with it. Citizens of below mentioned countries visit to Mongolia without a visa:

“Temple” tourist camp is located in the place named Ar Bulagtai which
belongs to the area of Erdene sum, Tuv province. It is 56 km drive on
the paved road and 9 km on dusty road from the center of UB to the
