Ulaanbaatar Attraction

Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia, is located on the bank of Tuul River and surrounded by majestic mountains. The combination of these pine covered mountains, vast public squares, Buddhist temples, and bustling marketplaces give it a rustic charm.

The Choijin Lama Museum
Hours and facilities: Everyday- 10.00 am -6.00 pm. Some Labels in English. Built between 1904 and 1908, this museum was originally a temple for the young brother of the last Bogd Khaan, political and religions dance called tsam.

The Winter Palace of Bogd Khaan
Hours and facilities: 10.00am -5.30pm everyday (summer season)
Built between 1893 and 1903, the museum consists of the winter home of the Bogd Khaan, the last political and religious leader of Mongolia, and His personal temple. Inside the home is the Bogd Khaan’s ornate ger, covered with show leopard skins, The Main Gate of the temple were made without a single nail.

State Department Store

The State Departments Store is the largest retail store in Mongolia. It offers a variety of products and consumer goods for the needs of tourist, visitors and dwellers of Ulaanbaatar. The Department store is a walking distance from the largest hotels of Ulaanbaatar, so it is never difficult to drop by. The State Department Store offers traditional Mongolian antiques, souvenirs and other various types of products.

Zaisan Hill The National Museum of Mongolia History

Hours and facilities: Everyday -10.00 am – 4.30 pm. Library, gift shop. Most Item descriptions in Mongolian and English. This museum presents Mongolian history and culture from the dawn of human to the present day. A special gallery exhibits the clothing and accessories of Mongolia’s 20-odd ethnic groups. The ethnographic section features a furnished ger and collection of saddles.

The Museum of Natural History:

Hours and facilities: Everyday: 10.00-4.30 pm
Some labels in English. Gift shops. The museum covers 5 areas: Geology, Zoology, Botany, Anthropology and Paleontology. The Paleontology exhibits include dinosaur’s skeletons and eggs unearthed in Mongolia. While most of the exhibits cover the natural history of Mongolia. The museum is undergoing expansion and will cover the natural history of the whole world.
