Book Store

Depending on which language and type of book you want, there are several options for shopping. There are several book stores that offer English, Russian and German books. Mongolia-English and other language dictionaries can be found at most book stores in Mongolia, but more popular modern novels are only available at specialty book stores. Xanadu carries many of the new English bestsellers as well as books about Mongolia in English.

Xanadua bookshop is a book and wine shop owned by an Australian guy called Graham Taylor the shop can be located in the same building as Millie’s Cafe. The shop mostly stocks travel guides and local history books, they also sell children’s books and general interest books. They also sell a good selection of classic novels such as Dickens’ and modern novels.
Stocks sometimes run a little low between shipments but the store is generally well stocked.

You can also find painting and drawing by local talented artists for sale in the gallery all located in the same place. Prices are a little more expensive than what you’d pay at home, which is common with all foreign language bookstores in the country.
