Adventure tour to Khuvsgul lake

Lake Huvsgul – The Blue Pearl of Asia: Lake Huvsgul, the second largest
freshwater lake in the world after Lake Baikal in Buryatia, is popular
for its pure water, awesome Alpine-like landscapes, wonderful wildlife
and the different ethnic people living around it.


Full description & Itinerary

Lake Huvsgul region is a destination in itself and an entire tour could be devoted to this specific part of Mongolia.
Day one:
Arrive in Ulaanbaatar.
Day two:
Its
first day of Naadam festival. In morning we’ll see the opening ceremony
of Naadam. After lunch drive to khorse racing place (30km from Ub).
Overnight at hotel.
Day three:
After breakfast drive to archery place. Archery is three man game.
Day four:
Drive to Tuv province to see “Horsemen” show. We can see the wonderfull skills of mongolian horsemen . Overnight at hotel.
Day five:
Fly
to Khatgal town, the gateway to the Khovsgol National Park. Forest
surrounded, and 100 miles long, Lake Khovsgol is the deepest in Central
Asia and holds 2% of the world’s fresh water resource. Visit the Park
Information Center. Overnight at camp.
Day six:
Excursion to the
lake Khuvsgul. Enjoy the scenery of the lake and its shores with its
rich flora and fauna. Visit to a nomadic family, horse or yak riding.
Overnight in ger camp.
Day seven:
Drive to Tsagaannuur (The
white lake), the town is situated Tsagaannuur is located at the edge of
the great north woods, or taiga. As a result, the town serves two sets
of people: Tsaatan and Mongol. Tsaatan are reindeer people
(tsaa-reindeer) who live and travel with their reindeer in the taiga.
Overnight in tent.
Day eight:
After breakfast ride to Tsaatan
people by horse. We can see exclusive life of tsaatan people. During
the period when Mongolia was a Communist state, the reindeer herds were
managed by the state. When communism ended in the early 90s, the choice
was given to Tsaatans to go back to traditional living with a portion
of the state reindeer herd. Tsaatan people come from Tuva, a region
more north and west currently a semi-autonomous republic in Russia.
Day nine:
Ride
back to Tsagaan nuur by horse. Option of hiking, fishing, relaxing and
just enjoying the beautiful surroundings of the Tsagaannuur. Overnight
in tent.
Day ten:
Drive back to Khatgal. Overnight in ger camp.
Day eleven:
Fly back to Ub. Visit the Zaisan Memorial, a prominent landmark looking over the city of UB.
Day twelve:
Guide will transfer you to the airport for your departure flight home.
